About

Hi! I'm Casey and I'm a multi-passionate creative entrepreneur who's been turning her hobbies into businesses since 2011.

I grew up loving to sew, paint, draw, craft, cook, and use my imagination. And I was great at math. So I went to Architecture school when the time came to choose a career at the wise age of 18. That decision was just the start of my winding path of self discovery as a young professional. After a few starts and stops and bouncing around and creating a few artistic side hustles, I committed to my true creative loves and decided to make a go of it as a business owner.

My first business venture was as a surface pattern designer and accessories maker for Casey D. Sibley Art + Design, starting in 2011. I grew CDS A+D into a busy wholesale business, selling my line of handmade goods to over 100 gift shops and boutiques across the U.S.

Along the way, I discovered the amazing world of wardrobe sewing, and in 2018 I started sewing all of my clothing and became absolutely obsessed. I was also hacking sewing patterns into new designs, altering thrift store finds, and eventually, designing my own sewing patterns to satiate my desire for more challenging projects. Then I started turning my designs into multi-size patterns for the home garment sewing customer. And that's how Pattern Scout, my indie sewing pattern company for women's apparel, was born. My patterns are now sold online to customers all over the globe and I am honored to be part of such an incredible sewing community.

I get pretty excited about sewing, creativity, and entrepreneurship in general, so if you want to chat about creative collaboration and shooting for the stars, I'm your pal. And if you ever need someone to tell you to keep your day job, I'm not the right person to talk to. I'm a fierce supporter of trying new things and trusting that sense of curiosity in your gut. I spend my days doing what I love and I am truly excited to start work every day!

My greatest overall strengths, gathered from my diverse design background, include: project management, brand development, graphic design, and creative courage.
